Breadmaking with Caterlink

On Thursday 18th May, Leandra Boyes, Chef Trainer with Caterlink and Helen Welsby from Kier visited our school. They delivered an assembly to Key Stage 2 promoting healthy eating and bread making. After the assembly a few of our children were selected to stay behind in the hall and take part in a bread making session. The children discussed and learned about the ingredients that go into making bread, how to make the dough and then knead it.

The children all had a go at making their own little rolls / loaves. Once the bread was proved and cooked, cooled and wrapped it was ready to take home.

The children had lots of fun and we would like to thank Leandra & Helen for such a fun session, and we look forward to another visit from the ladies next week.
